About Us

The Cold Finished Steel Bar Institute (CFSBI) is the trade association for the North American cold finished steel bar industry. CFSBI is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.

CFSBI represents members in 17 states that are engaged in the production of cold finished steel bar. CFSBI members employ thousands who make and market product used in everything from airplanes and missiles to refrigerators and sports equipment. Indeed, anything with a motor probably contains one or more parts made from cold finished steel bar.

Our Mission

CFSBI promotes the growth of the cold finished steel bar industry and fosters an awareness of matters affecting the industry’s business prospects with special attention to legislative, regulatory and trade concerns. CFSBI maintains an active liaison with other trade associations on its members’ behalf. The Institute provides members and associate members with the industry-specific tools necessary to make prudent business decisions and operate more productively and profitably
